NSI and ISO Raising Food Safety Awareness
15th, March 2010The Namibian Standards Institution (NSI), in collaboration with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), hosted two regional seminars from 15-19 March 2010 in Windhoek.
The purpose of these seminars was to raise awareness and provide “Train-a-Trainer” training for Food Safety Professionals in Namibia as well as the East and Southern African regions. The awareness and “Train-a-Trainer” training were conducted based on the ISO Food Safety Management System Standard (ISO 22000 of 2005).
Approximately 50 Namibian participants took part in these seminars in addition to approximately 15 participants predominantly from National Standards Bodies (NSBs) of the two African Regions. The seminars were facilitated by two experts from the ISO training pool namely Dr. Bruno Doko and Ghita Benkirane.
