Participating in the Polytechnic Career Fair

The Namibian Standards Institution had the opportunity to participate in the Polytechnic Career Fair held at the Polytechnic Engineering Building in Windhoek on 25 March 2010. The aim for participating in the career fair was to create awareness on the careers in quality assurance that can be followed in Namibia. During the fair information was made available about:
• The activities of the NSI
• Different careers which can be followed in quality assurance in Namibia – requirements and job descriptions
• The role standards play when producing or manufacturing products
The NSI stand was visited by many interested students who are studying Engineering, Science or Economics. These students wanted to know more about the activities of the NSI, the role that the organisation plays in Namibia’s economy and the process and value of standardisation. They furthermore enquired about career opportunities at the NSI, and whether bursaries and internships were available.
Representing the NSI at the Polytechnic Career Fair was: Nelson Tjihozu (Standards Officer), Ludwig Tjiriange (Product Certification Officer), and Annemarie Saunderson (Corporate Communications Officer).
