WTO/TBT Enquiry Point

In essence, WTO Enquiry Point is an institution established within each member of the WTO which serves to connect and inform members, private sector, trade officials, standards officials, regulators and any other domestic and international stakeholders, in all matters relating to the implementation of the transparency provisions of the TBT Agreement. NSI is designated by the Namibian Government as the WTO/TBT National Enquiry Point.

The purpose of Enquiry Point is to disseminate WTO Technical barriers to Trade (TBT) notifications from different countries that are of interest to Namibia. The Enquiry Point collects and submit requests and comments on information related to those notifications. Member countries of the World Trade Organization (WTO) are required under the Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT Agreement) to report to the WTO all proposed technical regulations that could affect trade with other Member countries. The WTO Secretariat distributes this information in the form of “notifications” to all Member countries. When registered, you will be updated regularly on TBT Notifications. Based on your subscription, you will receive email alerts or either find relevant TBT notifications on List of Notifications
